Perched on a window sill
SHE purrs her way in
More punctual than the clock on the wall.
With expectant eyes SHE announces
"Its time to feed HER".
SHE waits,
Salivating with anticipation.
Her mistress kneels with
A bowlful of HER favourites
Feeding HER with care
Expecting HER to return her affection
With a gentle purr.
But SHE with her mouth full
Looks elsewhere
Carelessly
Lost in HER own musings.
Quickly,
She smacks HER mouth clean.
With a flickr of HER tongue
Moistens HER mouth
For the second feed
As she looks up to her mistress again
With HER hunger satiatedShe goes back to HER corner
With an ungrateful look
All curled up
SHE goes back to her favourite passtime
Minutes pass
Hours roll by
The clock waits
Waits to be corrected by HER
And be the spectator of Her spectacle
Again.
P.S. For all cat lovers. Dedicated to A, a colleague and a friend of mine who is no more. His feline love always amazed and amused me.

I agree with the fact that cats r one ungrateful lot. Comparatively dogs r better n they giv u much more than u expect from them.
Having pets is a way of fulfilling our need to pet n pamper someone other than human beings.
