My room is cold. Even layers of clothes fail to keep me warm. Outside its drizzling. Still, I feel like going out for a stroll and have tea at a roadside stall. Watch life flow in multitudes while sipping tea but I wonder if it will it be a quiet watch 'cause there will be unquiet eyes watching me with strange thoughts.
Will the scene be any different if my gender was that of a man?
Will those 'unquiet eyes' still be drawn towards me?

The thought of having a hot tea in a rainy day from a roadside stall is wonderful.. I have had it quite a number of times...
And ya, never seen a girl there.. I would have also stared if there was a girl.. We (men) are hopeless.. :)
Vivek.
Thanks for bringing memories back about sipping hot cha trying to keep warm at the roadside stall. I treasured these memories.
@ Vivekb,
Oh! are all men really hopeless? :p
Well! buds you missed the sight of your life..hi hi...
Very often my gal pal n I used to go to this roadside chaiwala after our lectures in the evening. It used to be quite a sight. It was fun watching the scandalized expressions on the faces of men around and onlookers.
@ The Chair Speaks,
Welcome n Thanks!
Even i treasure these moments and they never fail to bring a smile on my face.
I can relate to you...thats something i love to do...go out in the rain..and watch the fun of earth getting drenched..and yes, it would have been all different had you had the opposite gender. Its sad..but these days, i have seen girls doing that. So...go out...do that...and do share a few clicks if you can...
@ Garf,
Thanks for the suggestion. Will surely carry my cam next time :)
hmm Well Strange but true , as far as i can recall i too have not seen a girl in a rainy season standing next to a stall drinking Tea.. But then I have gone out with friends (girls ) to have tea or samosa's in rain ..
and Stare well I try not to :)
It is very much possible for men to not stare at us...provided they consciously try to do so. I love having hot coffee on rainy days.
i have had, few times, and well i dont think i was stared at..
but i dont think all guys are hopeless..
anyway there are different types of stares from just curious to lusty type.
liked the poetic style of writing.

Sad but true... if we were of the opposite gender, no one would notice. Things are different if you are a girl; no matter how much people claim otherwise.
It instantaneously reminds me of Dylan's 66 ( I'm sure you haven't born yet) masterpiece, "Rainy Day Women"...Just find time to listen to it, if you haven't...
There are lots of stoning...for girls...and for many beyond...
Keep on sipping essence of life, my friend !
@ Bikramjit Singh Mann,
You are a true gentleman :p
Samosas, tea, rain and an awesome company....a deadly combination :)
@ Ria,
Ya, they can if they want to but....men will be men only..
@ Wise Donkey,
Thanks!
Kewl and ya, not all men are hopeless. Curious stares are fine but lusty ones ain't welcome.
onion bhaji's, pakoras, sand smell.. what all yu reminded me!
@ Komal Ali,
Hey what are you waiting for???
Just do it!!! At times its fun when you let your instincts take over reason :)
@ Vinitha,
Yep, i agree :(
@ Saibal Barman,
I was born way much much later :D

You ended ur post well of wishing to do something but ending up not doing it...
its quite a moment having a hot cup of tea/coffee enjoying the rain :)
Hey..
saw your footprints on my blog, thanks for the visit.
and you;re so....good with words.having tea in rain is one of the bliss i feel too.:)

U said it true.....
i just hope things change.....or rather guys.....;)
@ Sathish,
Ya, ur right in ur conclusion dats y i hav titled my post as bliss interrupted. It could been a blissful moment had i executed it. But was deterred by the idea of being stared (read leched) at by men.
@ Nikita,

@ Raaji,
Hmm....yaa, at times.
nah we are not all hopeless. smiles.
would it be different, of course it would. should it be, perhaps not....nice thought provoker...
hey..
sometimes u got to be strong enough to execute wat u think of...
with out thinking of others...if u are really crazy like me..
:)
@ Brian Miller,
Ya, not all are worthless, i agree :)
Thanks for your comment.
@ Crazyfundu,
Ya, you are right but there are times when our crazy side loses to the saner side.
The little fragment touched the core of my heart.
yeah .. its true.. a girl's presence may give stares..i guess its more to do with "person being out of context" than "gender".. as in same situation..if a guy in a tuxedo suit comes out of a merc and orders "cutting chai" he is sure to get stares...
but we should not be bothered..thats the main point
We guys appreciate nature and any form of natural beauty which presents itself... so looking at you will not always be bad ;)
If you look at it the other way, you always have options, while we struggle :P
@ Dibankar Sarkar,
Welcome! Glad to know that it touched you :)
@ Sankoobaba,
Thanks sankoo baba!
Well you hav a point :)
Thanks for sharing ur different perspective on the situation.
@ Sid,
Hi...hi...
Thanks!!
Every university campus has its tea-stalls and they are the hangouts....hot pokodas with chai and some amazing discussions. We have sat there so many hours even into the night, after the lights were switched off, changing to the sheltered veranda when it rained...
loads of memories linked with Gops, our tea stall :)
@ pinashpinash,
You are right every univ. has such dhabas around and they are the hub of some kool intellectual churning.
But here, the stalls that am talking of is that of the non-campus ones and on roadsides.
your titles, especially, are very ecstatic...thanks for ur honest comment on my post...btw are you an atheist???
beautiful thought..
@ aadil,
Welcome to my page and thanks for your comment. No, am not an atheist but would like to know what made u ask that question?
@ hopelessly flawed,
Thanks!
