I have been on a sleeping mode. Was wondering when my snooze-fest would be over not that I wasn't enjoying it. It was a blissful period, slumbering in and out of reality and dreams. Free from worries for a brief period. Had wondered then what would wake me up from this sweet sleep or knock me out of this reverie. Well! I didn't have to wait long (though I wanted it to go on a bit longer). My (not-so) charming prince came in disguise of reality which woke me up not with a kiss but a kick. Hmm..….not all fairy tales are hunky-dory with a sweet ending.
Some are like.............

That is called life..sorry.
But I must compliment on such a nicely written post - short but very meaningful.
Funny this one. Not all fairy tales are hunky dory with a sweet ending. Hehe.

hii
hehe! that trance when we are in while half asleep is a wonderful thing!
very true, not all fairy tales are hunky-dory with a sweet ending....
Lucky u get to enjoy a snooze-fest!
ha ha ha ha
dats really a vry nice post..
lol... at least a 'prince charming' ;)
Ah.. and don't you think the kick is better than kiss on ordinary days.. special things reserved for special moments. he sure didn't know how u have been feeling while lying there :)
I know what you mean!
Trust me, going through a similar phase..and don't really want the dream( or sleep) to end unless it is really the Prince Charming who wakes me up!
Anyways, good luck with your prince.I hope he turns out to be charming too!!!
*smiles*
What a brave prince! :D :P
LOL, perhaps deep sleepers can't be woken up with cooing, they need an extra punch. Well, I too am a good sleeper, but I don't want my reverie to be broken with a kick. :P
So how was it? :P
Cheers,
Blasphemous Aesthete
So true..
Feels great to be back and reading your work..
Waiting for more...
@ Raaji,
Yaa :(
@ Harman,
There is no charming prince in my life so no love-wav. I am referring to the hard facts and realities of life that do not allow one to day-dream for long.
@ A,
Thanks for your appreciation. You needn't be sorry. Life is like that and its the same for everybody, hard and tough.
@ deep,
Thanks!
@ Vivek (NC),
Yeah :P
@ AS,
Right :)
@ Irfanuddin,
Hmm...sadly, yes.
@ Vrij,
Don't be so envious of me. Am not that lucky. I was badly in need of a holiday but didn't get it so just took a day off and slept through the weekend else I would have crashed completely. Working 24x7 can really get on your nerves :(
@ The Aspirant,
Glad that you enjoyed it :))
Looks like you enjoyed me getting kicked by reality :P
@ Deepika,
*Sigh*...I wish there was one.
Am addressing reality and Monday blues as my "not-so charming prince" :(
@ Akankasha,
I guess, I should put a P.S. or a disclaimer that the "Prince charming" that I am referring to is NOT A PERSON OR HUMAN BEING. It is simply the hard reality or bare fact of life. Thats why this post is titled as "An Ordinary Tale" which is opposed to Fairy Tale coz there isn't any Charming Prince around and life is harsh.
If a guy were to kick me, I would kick him harder :D
I wouldn't stand violence in any form.
I hope your charming prince lulls you to sleep with gentle kisses ;)
That was funny. If only you could have briefly turned into a frog and given him the fright of his life!
nice post yaar... :)
hehe... i know this too well :)
@ Felicity,
Some more smiles for you :))
@ Blasphemous Aesthete,
Oh! Really?...lol
Wait till you get one. You shall know it for yourself :P
@ Mystic,
Hey! Welcome back. Equally happy to see you here after such a long gap :)
@ Radha,
He he...no no...I don't want to turn into a croaking princess. That would frighten me more than anybody else :P
@ Anjali,
Thanks!
@ haze,
:))
Thats funny... but nice :) :)
cheers,
true to life :)
But it's good you got a relaxing sleep to enjoy :)
Beautifully scripted, as always !However, most tales do not have sweet endings...they get sweetened up with dreams that turn them fairy...
Kicks are often better than kisses when one counts the truth in awakening...
Not arguing...just leave a reverse note, my dear friend !!
@ Tanvi,
Thanks!
@ dialoguewithyou,
Ya :)
@ Saibal Barman,
Thanks!
"most tales do not have sweet endings...they get sweetened up with dreams that turn them fairy..." Loved this line of yours. It almost sums up the uncommon tales of human life which we all aspire for.
Nice Post.. :)
I actually like the time you posted this one.. :)
2:00 am is just the right time to be yourself and at your best.. :P

That turned out to be a kicker!!
Hmmm sometimes real seems too reel.. that happens in everyone's life..
That was a cool wake up alarm u had set for urself...A Not so charming Prince's Kick...hahah!!! I enjoyed that...
we can miss our fairy tales when they dont fit our preconcieved notions...
"snooze-fest"
"which woke me up not with a kiss but a kick. "
brilliant..
a simple process..dramatized wickedly..!!!
@ Arpit Rastogi,
