Unlikely solution for a likely question

Tension writ large on her face. Her head felt heavy and her shoulders ached. She closed her eyes for a few minutes trying to sort out things in her head. Her mind wrestled with various thoughts and options. Tried thinking of probable solutions. Nothing seemed to enlighten her. Tension grew instead of settling down. She simply shut her mind and looked out of the window from where light streamed in. The piece of sky that her eyes caught, had faded. She wondered. What had happened to the blueness of the sky? Was it the bright Sun or the misty clouds that had robbed it of its colour or was that faded look a particular phase of the day which would soon phase out restoring its colour?...
Her cell phone beeped and its screen beamed with the text, "You have received two new messages". She gave a cursory look to it and her eyes travelled back to her table and she wondered what she was doing there. A book lay open on the table with a few clips holding its pages, a file with a blue stick-on on which 'urgent' was scribbled. A writing pad lay aside with a few jottings. The matter on her computer screen matched the jottings but there was a pencil in her hand. She tried to recall that she did last before her mind had wandered off. She tried, tried hard to remember but her mind blanked out.
She was in the middle of so many things that nothing on her crowded table helped her recall that had engaged her serious attention a few minutes back. All she could think then was the immediate need to de-clutter the table and probably her life, too. Maybe the solution lay there.

Precisely portrays the picture of today's women, most of who have given more importance to career than home. How often do we see women who don't consider career more important than home; thus establishing the fact that anyone can take up that post in the office but the role of a mother/home-maker essentially can be played only by her?

She needs to de-clutter, yes. She will find a solution :)

I've been in that situation, only that I tend to keep away from too much multitasking.

Rewinding helps. Try to go back to where you were, before that thought drifted you away. Try, you might not remember, but do.

Cheers,

This was a good piece of writing.
I think it's something different people will interpret differently.

It's the beauty of mind--a gem that is earned after millions of births !
I care and dare not to dream of a wan sky neatly wiped of all heaps of clouds...the world may be sagely enough to demand cleansing of clutters to ride on a pegasus of clarity, but I enjoy being trapped in tangles of thoughts...a great bundle of...a few sullen, a few forlorn, a few engaged, a few puffy and a few uncanny...like those clouds endlessly beautifying through seasons...for the Sun to paint colours upon...for the Moon to melt into...for the thunder to show off...and for the rain to hide its passion...
I wish you never lose the beauty of thoughts...a clear slate of mind is perhaps as speculative as a piece of white sheet that waits forever for a letter of love to be written on it...
Take care,

Sh@s,

Very rightly said. One needs to declutter not only workplace but own mind too to have clarity for moving ahead.

Take care
