Please don't kill the ego. You need it while in human form. Instead put it on your knee and talk firmly to it and tell it to shape up. Treat it like a 3 year old in need of guidance and love.
Observe events in your life and see when the ego pops it's head up to foil your plans. Learn it's tactics, then make your move before the disaster. Try it...you will see events change over time and each battle won will bring you closer to being the one in power.
