Metro Musings

At the end of the day she struggles to get into an overcrowded train. Fighting her way in as a few push their way out. Looks for her favourite spot to station herself as people get in and get out of that little coach. She discovers that her place has already been occupied by someone else so she waits eagerly for that person to leave and wonders if she would get that spot before she reaches her destination. She waits and waits swaying in the middle of the coach as the train jerks and moves and snakes through the tunnel.

The Gift (55 Fiction)

 Title: The Gift

His bosom swelled with manly pride and conquest. He lustily looked at Pooja’s naked body which lay still. “How dare she refuse me”, he murmured.

“Surprise…”, shouted Leela.

He turned around to see. Leela, his sister stood with a Teddy in hand.
Leela froze seeing her little daughter motionless and regretted not believing her words.

P.S. The month of April has been declared as "Child Sexual Abuse Awareness Month". I am unable to write anything new on the said topic so I am re-posting one of my earlier posts which is on 'child sexual abuse'.

P.S.S. I had a tough time writing on this topic and limiting myself to the word limit. This post is dedicated to all those children who are the silent sufferers of child-abuse. Home is considered to be one of the safest place but it turns out to be the most unsafe place for these children because their so called protectors are the real predators. Sadly their parents too don't believe such children and their stories because they find it unbelievable or are scared to confront the guilty because of family honour and the fear of spoiling family relationships. I hope all parents especially mothers become sensitive and attentive to their children's stories and educate their kids on this topic (which is a difficult task). Some amount of sensitivity and attentiveness can save your child from such abuse and a life-long stigma.

IMPORTANT: Plz read this post Child sexual abuse by Bikramjit, it's very informative and I request all of you to plz spare a couple of minutes to read it. Thanks!

Obituary

Breathless I lie.
Thinking, where am I.
Someone raises,
A tomb of words
for my dead bones.
Thinking,
That by singing my life's paeans,
They can do justice to my dead veins.
Alas! their words are hollow,
Every syllable sounds so shallow.

Priyotama (Beloved)

Language of music is universal. No language can restrict one from enjoying its melody. This is a bangla song "Priyotama" by Rupankar.

Chole eso aaj e raate...

After a long time I felt like singing, again. I wish, I could sing this song as a lullaby to someone.
